Meet the Author Series: Dr. Deborah Wong & George Fujimoto
Dr. Deborah Wong, Associate Professor of Music, and George Fujimoto, Jr, a native of Riverside, will speak on their work together on Mr. Fujimoto’s World War II-era diaries, (1942-1947). Covering the years from 1942 to 1947, the diaries chronicle the Fujimoto family’s forced relocation to an Internment Camp in Poston, Arizona and Mr. Fujimoto’s wartime service in the U.S. Army. The project to transcribe and edit the diaries was funded by the Center for Asian Pacific America at UCR, and will result in the publication of the book “From Riverside to Poston.”
