Meet the Author Series: Dr. Eric Elliott

Dr. Eric Elliott, was born in Los Angeles and raised in the Coachella Valley. In the past fifteen years, he has worked on documenting the Luiseño, Serrano, and Cahuilla languages, resulting in three major publications: Yumáyk Yumáyk, a fourteen hundred page series of Luiseño and English bilingual texts; Wayta’ Yawa, a nine hundred page series of Serrano and English bilingual texts; and, with co-author Katherine Siva Saubel, ‘ísill Héqwas Wáxish, a thirteen hundred page collection of Cahuilla and English bilingual texts. He is the Head Linguist of the Takic Language Revitalization Program, a Costo Partnership between UCR and the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians.
