Mergent Workshop (US company data) - May 19
Come to the Rivera Library, Room 140 at 10 am to learn about Mergent, a newly acquired online business resource.
Mergent provides in-depth U.S. company data covering more than 10,000 public companies. Included are all companies traded on the NYSE, AMEX, and NASDAQ exchanges, as well as approximately 3,000 of the largest "over the counter" companies. Detailed financial statements from the last 15 years are available.
Company information will typically include: exchange and ticker symbol; history; mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures; subsidiaries; officers and directors; auditors; contact information; news reports; long-term debt; bond ratings; stock information, including stock splits, annual stock price ranges, and dividend payment history; financial statements; and annual reports.
Mergent can be searched to create lists of companies with certain criteria, for example, software companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange with revenues over $5,000,000. You can also export company reports and financials into software applications such as Microsoft® Word or Excel. Access to Mergent is possible from off campus for UCR faculty.
