Pat Mora, Tomas and the Library Lady

Friday, October 1, 2004: Pat Mora, the distinguished author of more than twenty five works of poetry, non-fiction and children’s books, will read from her award-winning children’s book, Tomás and the Library Lady / Tomás y la Señora de la Biblioteca (Knopf, 1997). Ms. Mora’s presentation will be in English and Spanish. This charming story is based on a pivotal incident in the childhood of the late Tomás Rivera, Chancellor of UCR from 1979 until his untimely death in 1984. Young children, accompanied by adults, are welcome at this presentation.
