Library Program Receives Major Computer Science Award
iVia, which powers INFOMINE, received a national award for its ability to evaluate information for Internet search tools.

| RIVERSIDE, Calif. – www.ucr.edu – Gordon Paynter, a long-time member of the INFOMINE/iVia Project team at the Libraries of the University of California Riverside received the Vannevar Bush Best Paper Award at the Joint Conference on Digital Libraries 2005, held earlier this month in Denver. |
The award is considered a notable achievement, especially because it was selected from over 270 submissions for the conference.
The paper is titled Developing Practical Automatic Metadata Assignment and Evaluation Tools for Internet Resources, and is linked from the Web site of the proceedings of the conference.
