Description: Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is an online database that provides a way to determine the relative importance of journals within their disciplines. The Science edition of JCR covers over 5,700 journals, and the Social Sciences edition covers over 1,800 journals (the Humanities are not covered yet through JCR). For many years the only way to get access to JCR was to come to the library and use the CD-ROM version of the database. Now, an online version enables you to search JCR from any campus web address, and from off-campus via ta remote access server. In this workshop you will learn how JCR can be used to identify the journals that are the largest, most cited, highest impact or “hottest” in a particular field.
