Roger L. Ransom, The Confederate States of America: What Might Have Been
Roger L. Ransom is an award-winning professor in the History Department of the University of California, Riverside. Professor Ransom specializes in economic history, with an emphasis on the Civil War. He is the author of numerous articles and more than ten books including The Political Economy of Slavery, Emancipation and The American Civil War. He will speak on his most recent book, The Confederate States of America: What Might Have Been, a work of “counterfactual” history, in which he examines what the United States would be like today if the South had won the Civil War.
