African Student Programs 40th Anniversary: Rivera Lobby
The UCR Libraries are hosting an exhibition during the month of February in the Tomás Rivera lobby by the UCR office of African Student Programs documenting the history of the African American student experience at UC Riverside. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the African Student Programs office. This "time capsule" display is the work of researcher Ed E-Nunu and students Rickie Ohiri, Letia Solomon, Renee Manson, Stacey Hartnett and Mahogany Blank.
See here for more events and programs at UCR throughout February that will recognize African-American achievement. For more information on the exhibit, contact Ken Simons at (951) 827-4576 or kenneth.simons@ucr.edu.
Also in February the UCR Libraries (Rivera Library lobby) also are exhibiting a display on African American Women in Art curated by renowned artist Charles Bibbs which includes work commissioned for “The Secret Life of Bees." Read more about the exhibit and the artists in this UCR Today article.
