African Art Exhibit, Lecture, and Tour in Celebration of Black History Month
Three-week-long exhibit features art and artifacts from the Black Voice Foundation for Media, History and the Arts Collection; Curator of African American Civil War Freedom Foundation and Museum to speak at Feb. 22 reception.

With a desire to inspire future generations, we are sharing the accumulation of artifacts, mementos and art from our walk through history. The collection includes over primary source artfacts from Africa that includes tribes, cultures and traditions that lead us back to current products we may be familiar with.
The reception will host a special Guest Lecture by Hari Jones who is the Assistant Director and Curator of the Washington, D.C. - based African American Civil War Freedom Foundation and Museum.
Following the lecture, there will be a reception and guided tour.

"Footsteps to You" which includes the Isaacs collection, is an exhibit that shares stories of historic experiences with the people throughout many African na5ons and leads us to the beginning of the Underground Railroad.
The Tree of Life, Tanzania to Northern Mozambique. 24 in x 20 in. The Makonde are noted for their exceptional wood carvings in African blackwood, or mpingo. The most notable carving theme is "Tree of Life" or "people poles."
