New Digital Resources: CrossFire (Beilstein) Now Available!

CrossFire (Beilstein) Now Available!

Chemistry researchers:

We are pleased to announce that Beilstein and Gmelin are now accessible online at UCR through MDL CrossFire.  This software provides access by bibliographic, structure, reaction and property searching to the Beilstein database of organic chemistry and the Gmelin database of inorganic and organometallic chemistry. A client needs to be installed only once until MDL issues a new version. A minimum of special training or knowledge of search command languages is required. UC users have unlimited access, on a 24-hour basis from valid campus IP addresses.

Windows and Mac editions are available for download at the following site:

http://software.chem.ucla.edu/crossfire/

Please report any problems or concerns to Julie Mason, jmason@ucr.edu or x2-2817.  We have done limited testing with off-campus connections and Mac installations. The Libraries plan to hold a training session during Spring quarter.
