New Digital Resources: 10 polymer journal backfiles now available
10 polymer journal backfiles now available
The CDL has recently acquired significant journal backfile collections from Wiley InterScience in the area of polymer science. The collections were acquired based on the recommendation of the Joint Steering Committee on Shared Collections (JSC) and the approval of the Collection Development Committee (CDC). The polymer backfile collection encompasses 10 journals:
Acta Polymerica 1979 - 1997
- Advances in Polymer Technology 1981 - 1995
- Die Angewandte Makromolekulare Chemie 1967 - 1997
- Journal of Applied Polymer Science 1959 - 1995
- Journal of Polymer Science 1946 - 1995
- Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics 1947 - 1997
- Macromolecular Rapid Communications 1980 - 1997
- Macromolecular Theory and Simulations 1992 - 1997
- Polymer International 1994 - 1995
- Polymers for Advanced Technologies 1990 - 1995

The website notes that: "the Polymer Backfile Collection is a complete digital backfile of 636,000 pages from journals covering the subject area of polymer science and engineering, including full coverage (back to Volume 1, Issue 1) of seminal titles such as the Journal of Polymer Science and Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics."
The CDL purchased perpetual rights to the Wiley backfiles with one-time funding on behalf of all UC libraries and future students.
The other Wiley backfiles, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Biophysics journals and the Angewandte Chemie International Edition were highlighted in previous Featured Resources articles.
