New Digital Resources: Photos from the Olympics
Photos from the Olympics
UCR students, staff and faculty:
Feast your eyes on AccuNet/AP Multimedia Archive, a wonderfully rich, easy-to-use resource for finding sought-after images quickly. From around the world, about 800 new photos are added daily to the 700,000 current and archived photos from the Library of the Associated Press (AP).

To give you an idea of just how current this archive is, you can find photos from yesterday's Beach Volleyball matches at the Summer Olympics in Athens, wreckage from Hurricane Charley of a destroyed mobile home in Pine Island, Fla., and Michael Jackson going to the courthouse for a pretrial hearing on Monday, August 16. |
| The deep archive of historical material is especially notable with numerous historical images scanned in each week. You can find pictures of notable historical figures as well as images from significant events of the 20th century, including: WWII U.S. Marines hitting the beach at Iwo Jima, Richard Nixon's resignation, Ham the monkey in space (1961), the Scopes trial, influenza victims in 1918, the Dust Bowl of 1936, and Nobel prize winners Mandela and Klerk. |
