NY Times Book Review Archive

The respected New York Times Book Reviews can be accessed two ways at the UCR Libraries: via the free New York Times Book Review Archive (1997-) or through the licensed ProQuest search engine (1999-).
Both make available more than 15,000 full-text reviews, from children's books (My Dog Toby) and biographies (Jonathan Edwards: A Life), to non-fiction (The Knowledge Factory) and short stories (Ten Little Indians by Sherman Alexie). This rich collection is very well complemented by sumptuous first chapters from hundreds of books, editorials, headlines and feature articles about authors with rich biographical details. |
| The collection also includes essays, such as the one by Salman Rushdie with very interesting recollections of his attendance at the PEN congress in New York 20 years ago or the topical "Da Vinci Con" by Laura Miller. There are also the all-important bestseller lists — the top 25 in fiction, non-fiction, advice and children's book by hardcover and paperback, respectively. |
