New Digital Resources: Book Review Digest Plus
UCR Libraries is making available Book Review Digest Plus, a dramatically expanded online version of the classic Book Review Digest. With coverage extending back to 1983, this database indexes reviews of 550,000 current fiction and non-fiction, books for children, and reference works in the humanities, social sciences, and general sciences. In addition to the review citations, the database contains review excerpts for 150,000 titles (as in the original print Book Review Digest),and over 100,000 full text reviews.
Searching parameters are quite flexible: keyword, title, series, childrens literature, publisher, country of publication, ISBN, etc. You can limit to full-text articles or those found in peer reviewed journals.
Browsing by journal name is also possible. For those seeking a review of Dick Martin's book on the telecom wars, Tough Calls, Amelia Jones' Irrational Modernism, or Mary Roach's fascinating book, Stiff: the Curious Lives of Human Cadavers, this is the go-to source!
Access to this resource is possible from off campus. Click on Connect from Home for more information.
