New Digital Resources: Retrospective Humanities and Social Sciences Index
Retrospective Humanities and Social Sciences Index
Humanities & Social Sciences Index Retrospective offers the ability to search a wide range of journals as far back as 1907 through 1984. This resource is equivalent to the 46 print cumulations found in the UCR Libraries' Rivera Reference Collection!
Among the citations to over 13 million citations to articles, many of which are peer-reviewed, are references to 240,000 book reviews. The database also covers many important scientific journals through the 1950's. You will find references, for instance, such as:
- A scholarly article in Public Management v.38 (September 1956), p. 194-6 entitled "Master plan for Administration in Riverside, Calif"
- An interview with Mao Tse-tung in China Weekly Review from November 14, 1936
- A book review to Life of Alice Freeman Palmer published in June 1908
- A historical look at the early years of television in McKeegan's article, "Techniques and problems of presenting homemaking television programs " from Journal of Home Economics v. 46 (June 1954) p. 384-6.
