We welcome California residents 18 years and older to join the Friends of the UCR Libraries. Membership fees help support services to community users of the UCR Library.

When you join the friends of the UCR Libraries, you will be issued a Friends borrower card, Your library card entitles you to borrow materials from the Science Library, the Tomás Rivera Library, and the Music Library.  Library cards must be presented to check out materials and for other library services.  Library cards are not transferrable.

How to Join

Join at either the Science or Rivera circulation desk.

Friends $65.00: Privileges are valid for one year.

Senior Friends (age 55 or older) $40.00: Privileges are valid for one year.

California State University (CSU) / Community College Student Friends $20.00: Privileges are valid for six months.  Proof of current student registration required.

Watkins Society $35.00: Privileges are valid for one year.  Patron's name must be on Watkins Society membership list.

When applying for Friends of the Library membership, you must present a current CA Driver's License (CDL) or CA Identification Card (CID) and address verification.  We welcome cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard for payment.  Membership may be renewed by bringing the library card (and other required identification) to the Science or Rivera Library Circulation desk.

Change of Address

Please fill out a change of address form whenever you move or change your email address. You can also do this in person at a library circulation desk.
