How to Remove USB Flash Drives from Public Library Computers

Here are the steps how to safely remove your USB flash drive from our public library computers:

  1. Left-Click on the Add/Remove Hardware Icon.
    Look for this icon in the lower right
  2. Select Safety Remove Hardware

  3. In the next window, find your device. (There may be more than one device. Double click to check if it's yours.)

  4. Once you find your device, select it and click OK.
  5. A popup should appear in the lower right window similar to this:

    Safely Remove USB
  6. Once you see this yellow pop-up window, you can remove your device from the computer safely.
