Description: This collection consists of the papers of Joaquín Nin-Culmell, a Cuban-Spanish composer, an internationally known concert pianist, and an emeritus professor of music at the University of California, Berkeley. Included in this collection are scrapbooks, correspondence, photographs, manuscripts and concert programs.

Oswald Jonas Memorial Collection

Extent: 85.0 linear feet (86 document boxes, 10 record storage boxes, 1 flat storage box, unboxed material)

The Oswald Jonas memorial collection combines the papers of the Austrian music theorist Heinrich Schenker (1868-1935) with the papers of Oswald Jonas (1897-1978), a distinguished Schenker pupil and loyal disciple. Also included in the collection are numerous musical scores, many of which are first editions, of works by 18th and 19th-century Germanic composers. Dr. Jonas was a Professor of Music at UCR from 1966-1978.

Other collections include first and early editions of printed music by various composers, the Marcella Craft Collection (Craft, (1874-1959), was Riverside's famous opera singer), all the editions and arrangements of music by Danish composer Niels Wilhelm Gade (1817-1890), and several early editions of books on music published between the 16th and 18th centuries.
