Scotty is the UCR library catalog. It identifies materials in or owned by the UCR Libraries and provides location, circulation, and order information.

• Books - Lists books available, checked out, in process, on order, or missing.
• Periodicals (journals, magazines, newspapers) - Lists periodical titles, NOT INDIVIDUAL ARTICLES. Shows whether periodicals are shelved in Current Periodicals areas, or are shelved in the stacks or are available in microform. Shows latest issues received and issues at the bindery.
• Government Publications - Lists publications from the United States government, California government, United Nations, and other international governmental organizations.
• Other Materials - Lists microforms, music scores, films, sound and video recordings, atlases, Special Collections, archive and manuscript collections, and electronic media such as CD-ROMs.

SCOTTY does not list individual periodical articles, book chapters, most individual maps, some government publications, and any items contained within series.

The UCR Library Information System also includes access to Course Reserves, your own circulation record, other library catalogs, Melvyl (the University of California system catalog), and where possible.
