What is a Library PIN?
A Library PIN (Personal Identification Number) is comprised of 4 different, nonconsecutive digits and will allow community users and affiliates to:
- Display your library account (My Library Account) to see what you have checked out and when items are due.
- Renew materials.
- Place a hold on material that is currently checked out.
- Place a hold on available material for Paging.
How do I get a Library PIN?
Once you have obtained a UCR Library Card:
- Go to the My Library Account log in page.
- Enter your UCR Library Card barcode number (begins with 21210...) and a Library PIN, determined by you. A Library PIN should consist of four different, nonconsecutive digits.
- Enter the same PIN twice and click on "Submit".
What is Forgot your PIN?
If you are unsure as to whether or not you have created a Library PIN or if you cannot remember your Library PIN, you may use the "Forgot your PIN" feature to set/reset it.
- Go to the My Library Account log in page.
- Do not enter any information. Simply click on the "Forgot your PIN" link directly beneath the Submit button.
- Enter the barcode number from your UCR Library Card (begins with 21210...).
- You will receive an email directing you to set/reset your PIN. Please note that you must have a valid email address in your library account in order to use this feature.
How do I change my Library PIN?
If you remember your Library PIN, but would like to change it:
- Log in to your My Library Account.
- Click on the "Modify your PIN" button.
- Enter your current Library PIN and then enter a new Library PIN in the two spaces provided.
- Click on "Submit".
