Recalls
What is a recall?
- A recall allows current UCR Faculty, Staff, and Students to place a hold on UCR owned material that is currently checked out using the Library Catalog (SCOTTY). A recall alters the original due date of a book, requiring the item to be returned sooner. In most instances, the book will be available to you in 7-10 days.
How do I recall an item?
- Select the "Place a Hold" button from the top toolbar.

- Enter your Patron Barcode Number from your UCR ID/Library Card and your 4 digit Library PIN.
- Choose your pickup location (Rivera, Orbach Science, Palm Desert, Multimedia or Music)
- Press Submit

- Choose "Request Selected Item"

When will my book be available?
- It takes approximately 7-10 days. You will receive an email when your book is ready for pickup.
