Borrow a Laptop/Netbook Service


9 wireless laptops and 11 wireless netbooks are available for use in the Rivera and Orbach Science Libraries. The laptops/netbooks may be borrowed from the Circulation/Reserve Desks.

Where Can I Use a Laptop/Netbook?
Laptop and netbook computers may be used anywhere in either the Rivera Library or Orbach Science Library where there is wireless access. They may also be used at any Library Link Network port in either library. However, laptops and netbooks may not leave the building from which they are checked out.
What's Included in the Laptop/Netbook?
Laptop Hardware:
- Dell, Intel 1.6 GHz Processor, 30 GB Hard Drive, 512 MB RAM, internal DVD Drive, integrated ethernet, 15” XGA display, internal sound card and speakers.
- Power Cord and Supply (2 parts)
- Battery
- Carrying Case
Netbook Hardware:
- Dell, Intel 1.6 GHz Atom Processor, 16GB SSD, 1 GB RAM, integrated ethernet, 10” display, internal sound card and speakers.
- Power Cord and Supply (2 parts)
- Battery
- Carrying Case
Operating System/Software/Applications:
- MS Windows XP Pro
- MS Office Suite
- Internet Explorer
- Windows Media Player
Security
- Please do not, under any circumstances, leave a library laptop or netbook unattended. You are responsible for the laptop/netbook checked out to you.
- Personal software may not be loaded onto the laptop/netbook.
