HelpThe Secured Collection, located on the fourth floor of the Rivera Library across from Special Collections & Archives houses a variety of printed books (in the areas of art, photography, etc.) which have been considered to be more vulnerable or valuable. These materials are able to be checked out like books in other areas of the Rivera stacks.
Access
The Secured Collection is available for use and browsing from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday - Friday. If you have any questions about use of the Secured Collection, please contact the Rivera Circulation/Reserves Desk on the first floor at (951) 827-3220.
UCR Faculty, Staff and Students: When closed (after 5pm and on weekends), paging requests for Secured Collection material may be submitted through the UCR Library Catalog (SCOTTY) and may be picked up at the Circulation/Reserve Desk of the Rivera, Orbach Science, Multimedia or Music Libraries.
Community Users: When closed (after 5pm and on weekends), paging requests may be submitted at the Circulation/Reserve Desk in the Rivera Library. The paging hours below indicate the times that a staff person will go up to the Secured Collection and retrieve items that users have requested. Paged items will be available within 2 hrs. of receipt of the request.
Paging Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 5 PM - 8PM
Saturday: CLOSED
Sunday: 3PM - 8PM
Checking out material
Items may be checked out at the Circulation/Reserve Desk. Loan periods vary by item and by card holder status. Please see the Borrowing Privileges at the UCR Libraries page for more information.
