Using EndNote with Microsoft Word 

Once EndNote is installed, you will see an EndNote submenu appears in your Word program under the Tool menu. This feature, called Cite While You Write, allows you to: 

       1. Insert citations stored in EndNote library into Word document and format a bibliography in a Word document 
       2. Reformat/Change bibliographical style

Inserting citations and formatting a bibliography in Word

Steps:

  1. In Word, under the Tool menu, select EndNote submenu
  2. Click on Go to EndNote
  3. Select and open an EndNote library, in EndNote library click on the drop down box to choose a style (Chicago, APA, MLA, etc.)
  4. Click on   to go back to Word document
  5. In word document, under Tool menu select EndNote submenu, and click on Format Bibliography

Re-formatting/Changing bibliographical style in Word document
 
Steps:
  1. In Word document, under the Tool menu select EndNote submenu
  2. Click on Unformat Citations
  3. In EndNote library, choose another style (Chicago, APA, MLA, etc.) from the drop down box
  4. Click on  to go back to Word document
  5. In Word document, under Tool menu select EndNote submenu, and click on Format Bibliography
