Free Credit Reports
Free Credit Reports
Beginning Wednesday, December 1, 2004, California consumers may request a free copy of their credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide credit bureaus -- Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Requests may be made by mail, by phone, or online.
The new legal right to receive a free annual credit report was established by the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 to help consumers protect their identities and keep track of their credit.
