In a rare visit to Germany, "Traven's agent" Hal Croves attended the October 1, 1959 Berlin premiere of "Das Totenschiff" with his wife, Rosa Elena Lujan. As it had on the set of "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre," the presence of Hal Croves again gave rise to speculation in the press that he was the author B. Traven.
