CES: 50th Anniversary Program
1957. Even before the fledgling liberal arts college, UC Riverside, had graduated its first class, the Citrus Experiment Station celebrated its 50th anniversary, looking back on a half century of internationally significant research in the areas of citriculture, genetics, plant propagation, crop production, disease and pest control, soil science and more. A resolution of the California State Legislature adopted January 14, 1957 called it “one of the world's foremost centers of research in subtropical horticulture.”
