Search Tips

• Use asterick * to retrieve variations: Example: soci*  to retrieve variations of the root word.  e.g., social, society, etc.
• Refine keyword searches using Subject Headings Example:   "A Doll's House"  could be refined using subject heading:  Dukkehjem OR "Social Problems" could be refined by browsing the various other related subject headings: Social Problems In Literature
• Subject headings/descriptors are not consistent across databases.  Many have their own lexicon (vocabulary).
