Connect From Home
The campus provides two ways to access the Libraries' resources when away from campus:
- WebVPN allows students, faculty and staff to access the libraries' web-based resources through a web-based log-in form. (more info)
- Client VPN functions through software installed by the user on their computer, and establishes a secure tunnel between the user's computer and the campus network. (more info)

Instructions:
Client VPN
The Client Virtual Private Network (VPN) requires software to be downloaded and installed to your computer. Recommended for frequent or in-depth research.
The First Time:
- Go to the Campus Download & Install VPN Page.
- Click on your operating system under the "Download and Install VPN Client" section.
- Download the VPN client Software onto your computer and follow the installation instructions.
Whenever you want to log on:
- Find the VPN software in your Start menu at Programs -> Cisco Systems VPN Client -> VPN Client (you can put a shortcut on your desktop)
- Log in with your Net ID and Net ID Password(Same as Webmail)
Note: You may have to turn off your firewall (e.g., Zonealarm) to use the VPN. More Info
WebVPN
The WebVPN functions within your browser. You will be directed through the WebVPN if you go to one of our library resources from an off campus location.
You may also log in by clicking the button below.
- Log in using your Net ID and Net ID Password (Same as Webmail)
- Go to your resource

Because the WebVPN works within your browser, it is more prone to difficulties relating to browser compatibility. If you have trouble, check our documentation to see if it is a known problem. Some resources have difficulty with IE6 or with IE and Vista.
