The UCR Library has over 400 public computers among the campus libraries. We have selected information resources and software to support and enhance student learning and the research and scholarship activities of the University. Below are some of technologies available in the Libraries.

Available Technologies in the Library

  • .Connecting from Off-Campus
    Library research doesn't have to stop when you can't get to campus! UCR students, faculty and staff can access most of the Library's online resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer using the WebVPN or Client VPN services from Computing and Communications. Read more..
  • .Software on Public Computers
    All the Libraries' public computers are equipped with the software listed in the basic section. In addition, specialized software has been installed on the Learning Commons Computers located in Rivera Library 1st Floor, Rivera Basement, Rivera 2nd Floor, Rivera 3rd Floor, and Science Library 1st Floor.   • .Library Mobile Services
    If you have a Smartphone, ebook reader (e.g. Kindle, iPad, Nook, etc.), or PDA, you probably want to use it to access the libraries' wonderful resources. Find out all the mobile services available to you at the Libraries!

  • .Printing in the Libraries

  • .Laptop Borrowing
    20 wireless laptops are available for use in the Rivera and Science Libraries. They may be borrowed from the Circulation Desks. Read more..

    Wi-Fi wireless networking has become a popular method of Internet connectivity and UCR is proud to have adopted and adapted this great technology for the UCR community. With nearly 500 wireless access points, UCR has an extensive and robust wireless network. Read more..
  • Wired Laptop Internet Access
    The Rivera and Science Libraries have Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) ports for accessing the Internet from laptops. Read more..
  • .Scanning Your Documents
    Scanners are available in the Rivera and Science Libraries. For questions and assistance, please contact the Circulation Desk.
  • .Endnote: Bibliographic Software
    The UCR Libraries support the usage of two bibliographic software programs: EndNote and EndNote Web. There are three ways to use EndNote and EndNote Web with library resources. Read more..
