Scanning at the Library

The Library provides 13 scanners for public use.

Orbach Science Library:
  • four flatbeds in learning commons areas on first and second floors
  • three book scanners next to the Govt Patent computer
Rivera Library:
  • four flatbeds in learning commons areas on first and second floors
  • three book scanners in front of circulation

For questions and assistance, please contact the Reference or Circulation Desks.

To Make a PDF Document

  1. Select Acrobat X Pro from the Start Menu
  2. Ignore the menu in the middle of the page and click on Create -> PDF from Scanner (and your color mode)
  3. After the page is done scanning, if there are more pages, add them and Select “Scan more Pages.” When finished, select "scanning complete"

To Scan Photos

  1. Select the Scanner wizard on the desktop
  2. Choose your color mode and click on Preview (Greyscale is better than B/W in most cases)
  3. If you like what you see, click Scan

Book Scanning

Use our new Zeta Book Scanner to quickly scan pages you need from books in the library.  It is free, which makes it cheaper than a photocopier, it is ecological and it is quick! Remember that Copyright rules apply.
