Formatting Rules
Call Numbers - Personal copies of books

Notes:
-"PER" in all caps at the end.
-A space after the first line, then a period, followed by the first cutter.
-A space if a second cutter is included.
-A space before the year.

-There is a space, a dash, then another space after the class.
-The second portion of the call number refers to the type of material (notebook).

Course Records - Instructor (PROF/TA)

-The first letter of the last name and the initial are in CAPS.
-Only the initial of the first name is used.
-Multiple instructors are listed in separate fields.
Course Records - Course

-The abbreviation for the course is listed in all CAPS.
-Use only abbreviations listed in the schedule of classes.
-List all cross-listed courses in separate course fields.

-List the full name of the course in mixed case. Do not list the instructor in this field.

Processing Notes - Reserve Database

Notes:
-Each copy of the book has a specific note.
-The last note indicates that all copies have been processed.
-The standard format for notes and messages is used (dash, date, initials).
Holdings:
Use this field to note how many of each item will be on reserve. For example, if there are two Library-owned copies and two personal copies on reserve, the Holdings field would appear as follows. If necessary, the copies field should be changed to reflect the total number of personal copies that are on reserve.
