Billing Appeal Rules
Patrons are responsible for items checked out on their library card and for knowing the rules and regulations of the library.
Below are some reasons fines will not be waived:
- Book was not needed by anyone else.
- Lent the item to someone and s/he returned it late to the library.
- Returned Reserve book/s to the wrong library location/book drop or to the outside book drops while the library was open.
- Failed to notify the library of a change of street or email address before the overdue or recall notice was printed.
- Lent or gave the item to a friend or relative to return to the UCR Libraries and it was not received on time.
- Returned the item through Interlibrary Loans at another library and it was not received at the UCR Libraries on time.
- Live too far away or you were out of town when the book/s were due.
- Unaware of the UCR Libraries´ billing policies.
