Rivera Library Interlibrary Loans
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Currently enrolled UC students, faculty and staff may borrow materials which UCR does not own from another library through ILL. Fee card holders, students of other academic institutions, UC Alumni, Extension Students, ESL Students and Friends of the Library are not eligible for Interlibrary Loan.
WHAT IS AVAILABLE THROUGH INTERLIBRARY LOAN?
Materials available through Interlibrary Loan include books, periodical articles, newspapers, microforms, CD's, and videos. Articles requested are either supplied via email or as a photocopy. There is usually no charge to you for materials obtained through Interlibrary Loan; the library subsidy normally covers these charges.
HOW TO REQUEST AN INTERLIBRARY LOAN
UC faculty, students, and staff may use the REQUEST service from the MELVYL Catalog, many UCR & UC-licensed databases, and the UC-eLinks Citation Linker to conveniently place requests for materials from other UC libraries automatically. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
We act on your request immediately. The time it takes to send out and receive back Interlibrary Loan material varies, depending upon the material requested. Some material is rapidly available from other campuses of the University and state colleges, while other publications have to be requested out-of-state or from private institutions. Please feel free to contact us regarding the status of any of your requests, especially if you have not received your requested material within 3 days.
WHERE TO PICK UP ILL MATERIALS
Materials ordered through Rivera Library ILL may be picked up at the Rivera Library Circulation Desk. Copies are either e-mailed or mailed to the patron.
PATRON RESPONSIBILITIES
Return ILL materials promptly.
Request renewals before the due date. Respond immediately to overdue notices. After the second overdue notice library privileges are suspended until materials are returned. Patrons are billed for lost materials. Failure to return books jeopardizes UCR's ability to obtain materials for all its patrons.
