Instruction Guidelines
Faculty / Instructors
Faculty / Instructor attendance is expected. Your presence is an indication to the students the importance of the library session and the information covered. In addition, you are better qualified to answer questions that may arise regarding assignments in relationship to library research. If you are unable to attend, we expect that arrangements will be made for another faculty or TA to attend as a substitute.
We encourage you to provide the appropriate librarian with the relevant assignment prior to the library session. This allows us to tailor the session to the students' specific needs, making it as relevant as possible.Requests
Requests for library sessions should be made a minimum of 2 weeks in advance, although they can be made weeks or months in advance. We are sensitive to scheduling delays in various departments; we will do our best to accommodate requests made with less notice. However, there is no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate requests made with very short notice.
Library Sessions
Library sessions typically last the entire class length, either 50 or 80 minutes. Exceptions can be made for longer, upper-level and graduate classes. Library sessions are taught by librarians or in some cases, library staff members.
We appreciate your understanding of these guidelines. We look forward to working with you and your students.
