Online Databases
If you think it would be helpful to your students to see a list of the best databases to use for library research while in your class (e.g. PsycInfo or Biosis), we would be happy to help you make the links. Specific Articles
This is an easy way to make up a reading list of articles. Students are able to access most online library resources from home or other off-campus locations via a remote access server. See http://library.ucr.edu/?view=help/remoteaccess/
Research Guides and Bibliographies
1. Choose a Library guide or ask your subject specialist to create a custom library guide for your class or assignment.
2. Mount the guide on your iLearn or link to an online location at the library.
Online Tutorials
If you want your students to develop library research skills while in your class, you might consider adding a link to one of our online tutorials from your iLearn. The Libraries have created several online tutorials on such subjects as: Developing a Research Strategy, Using Biosis to find Biological Literature, and Using Ovid. Online ILearn Modules
We have created a number of modules to fit right into your iLearn. We have various guides and tutorials and we have several quizzes which can be scored right in iLearn. Ask Ying Shen for details.
Academic Internet Sites (INFOMINE)
We would be happy to work with you to provide your class with appropriate scholarly Web sites. If you would like to do this on your own, you can:
1. Generate a link that will return the results of a specific INFOMINE search at http://infomine.ucr.edu/about/netgain/examples/generate_canned_search.php. Explore the themes to find the one that works best for you.
2. Copy and paste the link it generates into your iLearn.
