Water Resource Collections and Archives

The Catalog of Coastal Aerial Photographs contains over 45,000 citations referring to aerial photographs available at the Water Resources Collections and Archives. Collection emphasis is on U.S. coastal areas with a strong focus on California, Oregon, Washington, Guam and Hawaii. Coastal regions of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and New Jersey are also well represented. These black and white photos were taken by the U.S Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps from the mid-1940’s to the mid-1950’s.

Other external aerial photograph collections, of California and other locations, are available at the Earth Sciences & Maps Library at UC Berkeley and other California universities.
