Patricia’s key responsibilities are developing policies, procedures, and training on preservation and repair of library materials, including environmental control, disaster management, and long-term life cycle planning including digitization. She supervises preservation employees and serves as a resource on preservation to local institutions. As subject specialist for African and African American studies, she also develops collections in these areas. She holds a Ph.D. in counseling and higher education​ from Ohio University, advanced certificates in preservation administration and librarianship from  Columbia University, an M.L.S. from Atlanta University and a B.A. in English​​ from Morgan State University. Patricia joined the library in 2007.
