Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the LA Aqueduct!

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the construction of the Los Angeles Aqueduct, the UCR Libraries' Water Resources Collections and Archives (WRCA) has digitized and made accessible unique historic items that primarily document the construction of the aqueduct including photographs, reports, maps, correspondence, memoranda, and other material. Digitized items from the following WRCA archival collections are now available online through the UCR Libraries' Digital Collections website :

  • Mono Lake Committee Collection
  • Joseph Barlow Lippincott Papers
  • Charles H. Lee Papers
  • Charles H. Lee Photograph Collection
  • Walter L. Huber Papers
  • Walter L. Huber Photograph Collection
  • John Debo Galloway Papers

To commemorate this significant anniversary the UCR Libraries has also developed the Los Angeles Aqueduct online exhibit.

Material from our partnering institutions on this project are available through the Los Angeles Aqueduct Digital Platform website.

The UCR Libraries' LA Aqueduct Digitization Project was made possible by a generous grant from the Metabolic Studio in order to bring consciousness to the impact and importance of this monumental piece of hydraulic engineering.
