American Gas Association

DOE Information Bridge

E-PRINT Network, U.S. Department of Energy


U.S. Department of Energy's searchable, browsable database of full-text eprints. Eprints are "scientific or technical documents circulated electronically to facilitate peer exchange and scientific advancement" including pre-publication drafts of journal articles (preprints), scholarly papers, technical communications, or similar documents.
E-PRINT network "is a gateway to over 25,000 Web sites and databases worldwide, containing e-prints in basic and applied sciences, primarily in physics but also including subject areas such as chemistry, biology and life sciences, materials science, nuclear sciences and engineering, energy research, computer and information technologies, and other disciplines of interest to DOE."

The Database provides access to over 259,000 electronic documents, primarily from 1943 forward, with continued growth through regular updates." International Energy Agency


"The International Energy Agency, based in Paris, is an autonomous agency linked with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The IEA is the energy forum for 26 Member countries. IEA Member governments are committed to taking joint measures to meet oil supply emergencies. They have also agreed to share energy information, to co-ordinate their energy policies and to co-operate in the development of rational energy programmes." The IEA produces information on various aspects concerning world energy including the following:

International Energy Data, U.S. Energy Information Administration


The U.S. Energy Information Administration offers statistical data, forecasts, and analyses about world energy consumption and production. Information is available by country and by category. Categories are: total energy; petroleum; natural gas; electricity; coal; prices; environment; and forecasts/analyses. Among the topics included are: consumption, production, supply and reserves, imports and exports, prices, carbon dioxide emissions, and gross heat content of petroleum, natural gas, coal, and electricity.

Country Analysis Briefs (CABs) provide overviews of the energy situation for all countries that are of current interest to energy analysts and policy makers. International Energy Outlook


"This report presents international energy projections through 2025, prepared by the Energy Information Administration, including outlooks for major energy fuels and issues related to electricity and the environment." Energy sources include nuclear power, natural gas, and coal. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) is the statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Office of Underground Storage Tanks, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency


The Office of Underground Storage Tanks (OUST) of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides information about federal regulation of underground storage tanks. The EPA "estimates that there are about 1.1 million federally regulated USTs buried at over 400,000 sites nationwide." EPA regulations require owners and operators of new tanks and tanks already in the ground to prevent, detect, and clean up releases from the tanks into the ground. The OUST web site presents:

Ranking of the World's Oil and Gas Provinces by Known Petroleum Values


U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 97-463 presents a division of the world into 937 geologic provinces and identifies those that the U.S.G.S. plans to access for petroleum resources. Regions and geological provinces are defined, known petroleum values of fields are allocated to the provinces, and the provinces are ranked according to the known petroleum value allocated.
