Edmund Goeze's "A Contribution to the Identification of Orange Plants" is a 32-page scientific treatise on the family of the Aurantiaceae with special emphasis on the genus citrus. Goeze, a German scientist working in Portugal, traces the origin of the plants and their arrival on the European continent and describes 14 species of citrus known to him.
