The Heroes Journey: Through Factual, Fictional, and Legendary Tales
According to the judges Mr. Keith's entry demonstrated “ the story of the heroic quest and the many different forms that tales of heroism can take. The collection originally focused on stories of fictional heroes represented in children’s books and has gradually evolved into a well rounded collection that includes the stories of legendary characters as well as of real people who overcame challenges and triumphed in the face of adversity. His entry contained well-written and detailed descriptions provided us with ample evidence” of the depth of his collection and his passion for the subject."

A People of Books: A Personal History of Jews in the 20th Century
According to the judges Ms. Goldmann’s collection was a “wonderful example of a collection which spans generations. Having selected a core of books from her grandfather's Library, she has carefully and thoughtfully built upon this legacy in order to find the story of her family in the written (and sometimes unwritten) history. The thematic organization of her collection mirrors a journey through history and geography. We found her notes to be particularly evocative and some of the details she included gave us a nearly visceral experience of the books as objects rather than simply titles.”
