Titles published by DAW during 1970s-80s have a distinctive spine color. Most have a box in the upper right or left corner of the front cover that says a variation of "DAW=sf books"� with or without a number of some type.

The form is: DAW=sf books
If a number is present,
such as no. 266, construct the heading to be:
440 0 DAW=sf books ;|vno. 266
If a number is present that has "UY" or similar, do not use this number in the series statement. Instead, give the number as a quoted note. Give the source of the quoted note or number if not taken from the title page. Determine the actual number of the series by consulting a 1st printing record (if available) and/or the DAW books list and put the number in brackets. For example:
440 0 DAW=sf books ;|v[no. 69]
500 "UY1236"--Cover.
In all cases give the "UY" or similar number as a quoted note. These appear on earlier editions on the cover and on later editions on the spine. Give the source of the quoted note or number if not taken from the title page.
In mid-1984, this series was changed to "DAW book collectors". This series statement appears only on the verso of the title page.
