Music Library Collections and Services
Supporting the Department of Music and the general UCR community, the Music Library (Room 054), located in the basement of the Arts Building, is UCR's place for students, faculty and staff to discover music in many genres and styles. Patrons are encouraged to ask music reference questions, either in person or by phone or e-mail. The Music Library provides public computers and coin-operated printing and photocopying as well as facilities, including headphones, for listening to CDs and LPs and for viewing DVDs and VHS tapes.
The UCR Music Library Collections include:
- 7,000+ compact discs
- 8,500+ vinyl long playing records
- 400+ DVDs and VHS tapes of musical performances, mostly operas
- 35,600+ scores, including notable collections of Scottish pipe and folk music, operas, historical and national monuments sets, complete works of major composers, solo instrumental works, chamber, orchestral, choral, vocal solo and carillon music
- An authoritative collection of music reference books
- Course Reserves: books, videos, scores and recordings
