Thomas Wilson Dibblee Jr. - In Memoriam
The Map Collection, Science Library, Honors
Thomas Wilson Dibblee Jr. (1911-2004)
His prolific mapping of Southern California has made an impact on our ability to help library patrons. As a youth, Thomas played marbles with polished rocks collected from the large rancho on which his family lived. He became intimately acquainted with the earth and his love for Geology began. His roots go deep into California's Hispanic history. The Map Collection lists 144 maps under the author, Dibblee, and up to 150 items that can be found through SCOTTY.
