Sustainability at UCR

Sustainability at UCR

Image Alt Text HerePeople hear a lot about "sustainability" these days. You can find many definitions of sustainability, but most cluster around the philosophy of preserving the environment so that humankind can continue to have a good quality of life.

The UCR campus infrastructure is working towards becoming more sustainable, in such ways as: using recyclable food packaging, planning a kitchen garden to provide local food for the dorms, promoting energy efficient fixtures and practices, landscaping with climate-friendly plants, conserving water, retrofitting old buildings to be energy efficient, and incorporating "green" design in new buildings.

You can help -- recycle your cans and bottles.
