Insects in Film

Insects in Film Exhibit

Insects in film have been appearing in movie theaters throughout the world for decades.  This exhibit features a montage of such films with corresponding materials found in the Science Library's collection.  Some of the films featured include The Mummy Returns, released in 2001, The Wasp Woman, released in 1959, Antz released in 1998, and Mothra, released in 1962, to name a few.  Among the materials included in the exhibit are Josef R. Winkler's A book of Beetles, Edwin W. Teale's The Golden Throng, and Mark Young's Natural History of the Moth.  The exhibit portrays a small selection of insects and the films they have appeared in.  Insects in film continue to fascinate both the movie makers and the audiences captivated by the large, and the small creatures crawling across the screen.
