Walter L. Huber Photographs
The Walter Leroy Huber Collection contains over 4,000 photographs. Most of the images were taken by Huber himself and document the many water projects he was involved in throughout California and the West.
The photographs are divided into two separate collections. Approximately 2,500 photographs are incorporated into the main Huber collection (call number HUBER). These photos are grouped together by region or topic (e.g., hydraulic structures in Inyo and Mono Counties, or the St. Francis Dam failure) and have collection-level records on Melvyl. The rest of the photographs are organized in a separate collection (call number MS 76/14) and are filed by Huber's own numbers.WRCA has an indexed item-level finding guide to this collection available in the library. The collection is also searchable via the Online Archive of California.
