San Francisco Bay Fund Inventory of Projects
Over the course of ten years from 2000 to 2009, The San Francisco Bay Fund, an initiative of The San Francisco Foundation, has provided funding to over 50 locally based environmental organizations that work to improve water quality or reduce pollution through research or restoration in San Francisco Bay or its watershed. These projects focus on public health, fisheries, or wildlife.
In accordance with this purpose, the grant categories were Monitoring, Pollution Prevention, Restoration and Research Study.
This Inventory of Projects is a central clearinghouse of information about the projects funded by The San Francisco Bay Fund Initiative. The Water Resources Collections and Archives (UC Riverside) has created this inventory as part of a larger goal of facilitating access to information about the wide variety of restoration projects in the Bay Area.
The San Francisco Bay Fund Initiative's Long-lasting Imprint on the Bay Area Environment
The San Francisco Bay Fund Initiative - "Bay Fund" - was established in 1999 to support local environmental projects to improve water quality and reduce pollution in the San Francisco Bay and its watershed. On Thursday, April 19, we marked the success and accomplishments of the San Francisco Bay Fund Initiative and the conclusion of a 10-year grantmaking initiative at the Aquarium of the Bay.
