Purpose
The San Francisco Bay Fund grant was used to develop an engineering design for the project site which incorporated the elements conceptualized in the Sears Point Wetlands and Watershed Restoration Project Final Preliminary Plan for on-site implementation.
Sears Point Wetlands and Watershed Restoration Project includes the restoration of approximately 970 acres of emergent tidal wetlands and enhancement of existing seasonal wetlands; provision of public access, outreach, and educational opportunities; and creation of habitat for waterfowl, and several special status species such as California clapper rail, black rail, salt marsh harvest mouse, chinook salmon, California red-legged frog.
